An intimate look at the life and work of Stephen Cummins, who blazed a trail through the 1980s, examining desire, oppression and the politics of sexuality. Reacting against the environment of AIDS paranoia and ensuing homophobia, Stephen created films that are both bold in their politics and beautiful in their poetry.
For several years, Walter Mcintosh worked as assistant editor for some of Australia's most acclaimed documentary makers - Bob Connolly and Robin Anderson, Tom Zubrycki, Curtis Levy, and Sherine Salama. In 2003 he edited two documentaries while a student at the Australian Film TV & Radio School (AFTRS), one of which, Sentences, won an IF Award in 2005 for best Australian short documentary. Since graduating from AFTRS, Walter has edited the 30 minute documentary The Prodigal Son, which received the audience award for best film at the 2006 Flickerfest Festival, and won an IF Award for Best Short Documentary. Walter recently edited the DVD extras content for Bob Connolly and Robin Anderson's Highlands Trilogy as well as co-directing and editing Darkness Over Paradise, a documentary about civil war in Sierra Leone. Projecting the Body is Walter's first documentary as director.
