synopsis A dialog between women artists from different cultures settled down in Barcelona since a decade now. Independent electronic music, traditional African dance, photography and audiovisuals, are the activities of these women who give us their points of view on different issues. Focussing on the actual triple challenge of being an artist, immigrant and female, in times exacerbated by the economic crisis, and model changes within industries - without ignoring the benefits of living in a city like Barcelona, considered a cultural reference . director Vanessa Batista studied Drama at the Instituto Superior de Arte de Cuba. After moving to Barcelona, Vanessa studied Audiovisual at the School of Audiovisual Media (EMAV). Ellas is Vanessa's directorial debut. Filmography related links
