synopsis
Mae and Ash live together, play silly word games and keep score on a blackboard. And every once in a while, they go out on dates -- with other people. They have one rule -- they never meet each others dates. And it seems to work until Mae returns home to find Ash's date, Kayla, still in their apartment.

director
Shuchi Talati is a directing alumnus from the American Film Institute where she received the Bridges-Larson Production award as well as the Women in Film endowment. During her two years at the conservatory, Shuchi made six short films, culminating in PORCELAIN -- a dark fairy-tale about a young girl's first experience of death. Another, THE DELIVERY, showed at the Museo Provicial De Pontevedra in Spain. Prior to AFI, Shuchi has worked in commercials and feature films in Mumbai. She was the core team member of a groundbreaking media content start-up in India -- Indusgeeks. Here she served as the Creative Head and Machinima director (machinimas are films made using game engines) directing over twenty commercials and corporate videos for clients like the Brand Union, RTA Dubai and Child Rights and You. Indusgeeks has since been ranked amongst the 15 hottest start-ups in India. At the moment, Shuchi is producing VENUS PEREGRINE -- a feature-length essay film by Writer/Director Courtney Stephens that won a Fulbright Scholarship. Shuchi is also gearing up to direct her first feature, GUTTERSNIPES, in Arkansas in late 2012. The story follows a hardened street girl who finds an abandoned autistic child and learns to communicate with her. Shuchi also works as a Development Associate at Santa Monica based Ptarmigan Films. She is currently based in Los Angeles.
