synopsis
A woman in her mid twenties is trapped in a miserable existence as a sex worker in a small Czech village close to the Austrian border. Her inner conflict bubbles up to the surface when she decides to take her chance for a better future and runs. While her pimp is only one step behind, she puts all her hopes in the Austrian suitor. He seems to be reliable, but she can’t be sure if love is his only force.

director
Peter Rautek lives in Heiligenkreuz, Austria.
Filmography

filmmaker's note
Iím not a politician or anybody with power. Stil I believe that every single one of us has the power to make the world a better place. And even if itís just by rasing awareness. Thatís what Iím obliged to with this short film. I came across the excruciating circumstances of women being abused as sexworkers along the Austrian-Czech border when I did a documentary for an Austrian TV channel. Every year, more than 5000 Austrians commute to this region to have sex for sale. 15 Euro, thatís the price they pay for brutal, nonprotected sex. Sex that would be convicted as rape anywhere else. These women are hurt badly every day, some of them disappear without a trace. And no one cares, as business thrives. The short film shows the life of one of these women and her apparently desperate fight to escape. It is based on a true story. So I ask you, today, to join us. Letís give this women hope by showing that we care!
