QWFF provides Filmmaker Mentors to PS 69Q for a film production experience that immerses students in all aspects of the collaborative nature of filmmaking. Using the theme 'My Character' students create films recounting experiences that revealed an unknown strength. As the 5th graders transition into middle school, this project encourages them to contribute to something bigger than themselves: a finished short film. Commonpoint Queens provides a comprehensive array of services to New Yorkers of all ages including after-school programming. ChipAway Productions in association with QWFF, brings Filmmaker Mentors to their after-school program at PS/MS 200 in Eastern Queens where the students make short films of all genres.
