synopsis
A filmmaker explores memory and the way that we use technology to record our lives - sometimes at the expense of being present for them - through her grandfather's Colvilleesque 16mm home videos.

director
Martha Gregory grew up in San Francisco and moved to Brooklyn, NY after graduating from Kenyon College in 2010. She started out as an assistant editor at an advertising production company in Manhattan and eventually left to work as a freelance editor and direct her own films. In 2015 she helped edit, direct and produce a short documentary called "Facing the Surge" about Sea Level Rise in coastal Virginia which screened up and down the east coast. She also recently produced and edited a short dance film called "Boomerang" which screened at the Dance on Camera Festival at Lincoln Center. With a passion for culturally relevant projects, Martha is committed to visual storytelling and documentary as a medium for creating dialogue, awareness, new relationships and socially important art. She received her MFA in Film from Vermont College of Fine Arts in 2016. She'll be teaching and running the film studio at Kenyon College starting in the fall of 2017 while continuing to make her own documentary and narrative films.
