synopsis
When a forgotten relic reunites two exes, they must come to terms with the drastically different directions their lives have taken. Then, they try again. "Backsiders" is a short film about what we must we give up in order to become ourselves.
director
Craig Newman is a director, actor, and filmmaker. As a director, he has directed branded content, short films, web series, and documentaries. BUTS Web Series was a viral success with over one million views. He attended Sundance 2019 with the film sometimes, i think about dying and can be seen in the upcoming Russo Brothers film starring Chadwick Boseman, 17 Bridges.
Jen Pitt is a Brazilian-American director based in New York. She has worked as an ensemble member of The Living Theatre and as a freelance director and writer -- mainly writing for Bust Magazine. She is currently in her second year of the MFA Theatre Directing program at Columbia University. She spent this past summer in the U.K. touring a workshop production of Pale Sister, written by Colm Tóibín and performed by Lisa Dawn.
