synopsis A surprising find challenges a couple to question the foundation of their relationship. director Courtney Hope Thérond is a writer-director who has screened short films at several film festivals, including Outfest, Palm Springs International Shortfest, Indie Memphis, Sidewalk, Tallgrass and Citizen Jane. The screenplay for her digital series Between Us Girls was a finalist at the 2016 Austin Film Festival, and winner of Cinestory 2017. She is a graduate of NYU, Tisch School of the Arts and was a Cinereach Film Fellow. Courtney directs narrative and branded content in Los Filmography filmmaker's note Having dated since high school and together through Jess's recent gender transition, both Libby and Jess have been struggling to define themselves outside of their co-dependent marriage. With The Dress You Have On I wanted to explore a relationship between two people who are still deeply in love, but can no longer be together. While their circumstance is complex, their codependency is universal. So many of us have fallen into relationships that feel so comfortable that we lose ourselves in them. The Dress You Have On approaches the subject with honesty and a love for the characters and their bond. The Dress You Have On stars a transgender actress and a cis-gender actress, has a female director, and had women in several key positions. related links
