synopsis
"Michael Joseph Jason John" is a short romantic thriller that explores the emotional aftermath of a one-night stand (and the inherent risks of hook-up culture) as a lonely man imagines what life might be like with a mysterious stranger he picks up on the New York City subway.

director
Scott T. Hinson grew up in North Carolina, where he used to sit on his dad's lap and help sell tickets at the local movie theater. A graduate of the University of NC School of the Arts, he has acted in commercials, industrials and theatrical productions in NYC, LA, Philadelphia and The Hamptons. He wrote/directed a short film for the Child HELP Partnership (http://www.childhelppartnership.org) and is also a producing a feature he wrote and plans to direct called "Frank & Mikey '81" about a series of murders on Fire Island in July of 1981 (https://vimeo.com/254202561). Most recent acting credit: "The Great Gatsby" at the Bay Street Theater in Sag Harbor, NY.

filmmaker's note
One night stands have always fascinated me. Sometimes you make a connection with your partner and have a really good time, sometimes it's just a 'meh' experience and sometimes it's a nightmare and you can't wait for him to get the hell out of your house...but one thing is always the same...the light of morning will arrive bringing with it question after question (and that often unshakable emotional residue). Who was he? I felt a connection, did he feel it too? Will he call? Is he thinking of me? Could there be a future for the two of us? Is he the one that's going to kill me and shove me under the bed? Dealing with these questions and morning-after feelings are what I wanted to explore while making "Michael Joseph Jason John".
