When an adopted black Mennonite has an unexpected connection with a migrant worker, she is torn between her faith and her desire to explore the outside world.
Ellie Foumbi is an actor/writer/director from Cameroon. Her short film, Zenith, was a 44th Student Academy Awards Semifinalist and 2018 Nominee of the African Movie Academy Awards in the Best Short Film category. She was invited to join the 2018 New York Film Festival's Artist Academy. Her films have been selected to screen at several international film festivals, including Sidewalk, BOGO Shorts, Champs-Élysées and Zanzibar International Film Festivals, among others. She received the Jesse Thompkins III Award in Screenwriting and her feature screenplay is a Semifinalist of the 2018 Austin Screenplay Competition. She the recipient of the IFP Marcie Bloom Fellowship and is a Film Independent Screenwriting Lab Fellow. Ellie holds an MFA from Columbia University's School of the Arts in Directing.
