For more than 15 years Vivienne Deane was at the top of Montreal's jazz scene. She sang with the city's most talented musicians - Oliver Jones and Vic Vogel among them - and played in the hottest clubs.áBut well into her career, Vivienne's real path grew clear - one lit by spirituality and conviction, but also one with a steeper road to success: gospel music.A single mother in tight financial times, a lack of cash is Vivienne's main obstacle to accomplishingáher dream of recording a gospel album. And when arts councils tell her it's not in their mandate to fund religious music, her quest seems just about impossible.Gospel according to Vivienne takes you soaring with Vivienne's voice and drops you square in the middle of her artistic mission: to get her Gospel recorded and to send it out into the world.
Jean-André Fourestié was born in Bordeaux, France on April 22nd 1978. After studying advertising and completing a master's degree in Sociology, he moved to Montreal in 2004 to pursue his passions: documentary filmmaking and film editing. Self-taught, his first film, ELECTION, is an up-close look at the 2004 U.S. presidential vote. Himself a musician, in 2006 he followed up with CONSTRUCTIONS; a film on Montreal jazz trumpeter Jacques Kuba Seguin and the creative process involved in making his first album. For over three years, he worked as a video director / editor for TV5 Canada. Since, he divides his time between freelance TV editing and independent documentary filmmaking. Bruno Pucella Beginning by studying mathematics, Bruno Pucella eventually redirect himself in the film industry. Graduated from the university of Montreal and owner of a master's degree in film studies, he worked as a sound recordist and sound editing on several feature projects from the independent circuit in Canada. In the last two years, He did sound design for features like Bumrush, High cost of living, Jaloux, Un nuage dans un verre d'eau and he's presently working on the sound design of a theater piece Tout à vous de coeur et De quel rêve étrange je m'éveille that will be presented at the Cinquième salle de la Place-des-Arts in march 2012. His last short movie as a director, Perle (2007) had toured on the festival circuit and he participated in the third edition of Make it short, a short film contest live on television.
