synopsis Mariko flies from Japan to New York in search of her long-distance boyfriend, Tetsuji, who had disappeared after stating that 'he had began living with god.'Soon she finds Tetsuji living in his apartment with a strangely attired 'god' figure in an African mask. The strange aura between Tetsuji and his god, along with the faraway memory of 9/11 and the mystical energy of New York City, begin to affect Mariko, pulling her into a psychological labyrinth.Tetsuji's god had been blown away when the twin towers fell, and had roamed the city before encountering Tetsuji. The god cannot do anything by his own power. He is able to exist only supported by trust. Mariko attempts to reveal the god's identity, and the strange triangular relationship comes to an end. And a new world begins.
director Haruhito Naka was born in Nachi Katsuura of Wakayama prefecture in Japan, and graduated from Kyoto University. While in school, he made the feature film, " The Unknown Summer Sky", which was shown at the several movie theaters in Japan. Then, he went into the Shochiku Kyoto movie studio and worked as an assistant director with many famous directors such as Hirokazu Koreeda, Yojiro Takita, Yukio Ninagawa, Yukihiko Tsutsumi, Suzuki Masayuki, Masanori Inoue and so on. In 2007, he got the Fellowship to study in U.S under the Japanese Government Overseas Study Program for artists, and in 2008 graduated from one year film making program of New York Film Academy. Now he is living in Queens, New York, making the movie, and writing scripts and novels.
