Slate, is a story about a male hustler (Slate) who finds himself under the control of a lazy overbearing pimp (Terrence) who abuses him every chance he gets. Feeling lost, alone, and unloved, Slate's fortune changes when he meets Johnny. The two quickly form a friendship that flourishes into something more. When Terrence finds out of this relationship and goes after Johnny, Slate feels like he has no choice, but to take matters into his own hands.
Eric La Barr was born and raised in Yorba Linda, CA to Simone and the late Gerald La Barr along with an older sister Monique La Barr. A fluke audition for an independent film by the name of Rolling suggested to Eric by his sister led to his interest in the film business. Although the callback for Rolling wasn't for another year he continued to pursue a career in the arts. Upon completion of his first project, Eric decided it was time to pack up and take his act to Hollywood where he would fall into other auditions along with odd jobs to supplement income. Through this period of finding a creative outlet to vent into, Eric would have an urge to place all experiences into story form. Realizing his true talent, Eric began to focus on writing, which have led to several completed feature length-writing projects.
