Master Truong, the old Fearless of the emperor, is nearing the end of his life and he has not yet found his successor.
The country has to be prepared for war and the Emperor is furiously impatient. He gives him two weeks to find it.
Master Truong goes to visit a famous General (Master Wing) who had disappeared to become a simple fisherman. He lives with his two son (Tin and Tan) and her daughter
(Lan, with a disfigured face) on the shores of the Lake Ba Bê.
Master Truong knows very well the legend of the lake but this time he will really understand its meaning.
Master Truong tells to master Wing he wants to test his two sons. People talked him a lot about their quality.
Disappointed by their results, he tests also Lan. She has not a priori a high level of practice but Master Truong will choose her.
He has finally found the person who has all the qualities to succeed him. Unhappy, one more time, things are not so simple.
MasterTruong will return to the palace without a successor but with something more precious.
After his studies, Marc-Olivier Louveau (pseudonym Lou Ma Ho) worked in radio, theatre, and as a copywriter in advertising. His writing techniques made for a natural entry into screenplays for television and cinema for twelve years now. He has written books for young adults, notably a series of Asian tales. Expert in Viet Vu Dao,a Vietnamese martial art, he created his own school in 1996. A documentary project on the Vietnamese martial arts, "Les Fils du Vent " (Sons of the Wind), allowed him to combine his two passions : cinema and Asia. While preparing a short film in 2002, "Hand on Heart" (La main sur le Coeur), his Master of calligraphy gave him his pseudonym Lou Ma Ho (he who spreads the words of Confucius in the Occident). In 2005, the consecration of his work came together, resulting in "L'Eveil du Moine" (A Monk's Awakening), a film which received numerous awards and was selected at film festivals worldwide. In 2006 he directed Nico and in 2008,Dead Cell (Cellule Morte). He has just finished the feature film "Koan of Spring". The music of the film has been composed by Shim Hyun-jung , the famous film music composer from South Korea. Now, he prepares the production of "The Invicible Ronin" a japan comedy which will be shot in May 2014.
