Jane tries to get her life back and get over her fears and the social and personal prejudices she has to cope with after being diagnosed with schizophrenia.
Tomás Bases was born in Germany in 1968 and grew up in Barcelona where he studied artistic illustration at the School of Applied Art and Artistic Professions of Llotja. Since 1993 he has worked freelance in the field of computer graphics and illustration, and at present he is focusing on 3D animation and video graphics in his work, carrying out his own projects and orders from clients. He currently lives in Seville.
Opening Doors was born from the pedagogical desire to show many of the difficulties that come with a mental illness like schizophrenia. With a sense of humor and without emphasizing the obvious inherent drama, this short film uses an aesthetic approach that is filled with animation and attempts to bring to the observer the experience of disassociation between oneself and his perceived reality.
