Tyrik is a self-taught music prodigy, who began to explore his musical talents at the age of three. A proud 1998 graduate from The Juilliard School Of Music (MAP) and a product of the black Pentecostal musical experience, mixed with the best of Jazz and Brooklyn, Hip Hop greatness, which has help find his calling through the arts. In 2006 Tyrik received his first NY EMMY nomination for his musical composition, “Intelligent Design”. Intelligent Design was a CUNY-TV original production. Mr. Washington serves as Senior Music Composer for CUNY TV and an adjunct Teacher for The Graduate Center- (CUNY). In 2006 Tyrik grabbed the first ever craft-specialty EMMY nomination in the stations history. Mr. Washington holds a very distinctive title as being a multi-Instrumentalist, capable of playing over ten musical instruments fluently, and has been part of numerous high level musical and film releases. In 2008, Mr. Washington founded his own production company, New Day Music Group, Inc. and NDMG Films. NDMG is a full service entertainment and media company. Operating in activities that include musical composition, sound design, television and film production. In 2012 after receiving three more Emmy nomination, Tyrik decided to put on his directorial hat with the bully centered horror film, “The Class Reunion”. The Class Reunion is a story of two former high school students seeking revenge on their high school bullies, at their 20th annual high school reunion. The Class Reunion has been seen in several film festivals around the world and is set to be release on Blue-Ray, DVD and VOD in 2016. Always seeking to push the envelope with substantive art, Mr. Washington decided to come back in 2013 with the 30min action-political-thriller, “The Power Of Knowing”. The Power Of Knowing centers on a successful financial data Analyst by the name of Cindy Walsh, who is looking to take on the system by exposing the cover up of the largest Ponzi scheme in U.S. history. At the 57th annual NY EMMY award ceremony in March of 2014, Tyrik took home the gold. Under The Heavens is a two-part film project, both in short and feature length. Whereas, the short film serves as an introduction to the feature, entitled “Under The Heavens: Epilogue”. Keyz and NDMG Films released a teaser of Under The Heavens early August of 2015, as they begun the festival run for the film, which focuses on a frustrated African- American adolescent from Brooklyn, New York, by the name of Rahkeem, who is confused and angered by to the recent killings of several unarmed black men by the police. In his quest for justice, Rahkeem becomes vulnerable to questionable spiritual guidance.
