director
Ethan Nelson is a writer, director, and cinematographer from Minneapolis, Minnesota. He is currently based in New York City where he attends New York University. He has directed two music videos for the critically-acclaimed band Hippo Campus; his video for "Souls" was featured on A.V. Club and NME.

filmmaker's note
With Ridden, I aimed to explore the emptiness of a one night stand from the perspective of someone who enables the emptiness themselves. By doing so, I hope I allowed the audience to ridicule, but also empathize with this character in a way that I haven’t seen before in other films. Through outstanding performances by John Higgins and Melissa Denize, Ridden is a comedic and authentic representation of the emotionally murky world of random hookups in the internet age.
